Coronavirus: World sees highest daily increase in virus cases - WHO

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Wednesday that there was a long way to go before the coronavirus epidemic could be eradicated due to the daily increase in global cases.
The WHO said it had registered 106,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Director-General Tedros Adhanam brebrecias has expressed particular concern about the growing infection in low- and middle-income countries.
The warning is that the total number of cases reaches five million.
After hitting the world figure of four million, this seems like a terrible milestone to be reached in less than two weeks.
Experts warn that the true number of infections is likely to be much higher, with many countries sticking to the data through low numbers.
More than 326,000 people have died from coronavirus worldwide, according to tracking from Johns Hopkins University.
U.S.  The most affected is the country with more than 1.5 million cases and 92,000 deaths so far.
 What did the WHO say?
“In the last 24 hours, the WHO has reported 106,000 cases there, the most in a single day since the outbreak,” Dr. Tedros told a news conference on Wednesday.
He added, "About two-thirds of these cases are reported in just four countries."

Dr Tedros later warned that the world still had "a long way to go in this epidemic".
His warning to the U.S.  Many countries, including the United States, began easing sanctions.

WHO Emergency Director Dr. Mike Ryan also spoke at a recent briefing on the use of the malaria drug chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in relation to Covid-19.
